We have just returned from 2 night stay at Compston House B&B in Ambleside, Lovely welcome from gorgeous Megan on arrival, thoughtful provision for parking was a great touch.We arrived to beautiful weather, checked Into our lovely clean room, which had everything needed for our stay, spoiled for choice for places to eat and drink nearby, we had our evening meal in Dodds restaurant, Amazing food! .After a nice hot shower and great nights sleep, we were served the most Fantastic breakfast cooked by John to perfection! The menu is both varied and generous, and we were seated in a "bright,immaculate" Dining Room. I chose salmon with poached eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes, and for all the choice offered I had the same again this morning, great attention to detail. Will be back soon. We really loved our stay at Compston House B&B. Everything was exceptional, from the warm hospitality extended by Megan and John to the outstanding breakfast. The room was immaculate and comfortable, and Ambleside proved to be the ideal base for exploring the Lake District. - Anna-Lisa & E
